Girls' First Day of School!

Madison and Macey started preschool yesterday at Harpeth Hills. They are in the Young Two's class and are two of the youngest ones. I am very excited about it, and it will be good for all three of us. It was nice to run some errands and eat a nice leisurlely lunch. I was ready to get them by 2:00 though. My big girl Maddie Leigh ready to go to school. She had a great first day; walked into the room and immediately started coloring with the purple crayon, of course--her favorite color right now. Didn't cry at all. She told me about everything she did all the way home--she colored, sang a song, ready a story, played on the playground, went night night with Pooh and "Nee" (her paci), and said "Maddie go back to school." So, I think she liked it, we'll see how tomorrow goes. I'm not sure she talked much at school though because she didn't stop talking from the time I picked her up until she went to bed except for the hour nap she took as soon as she got home.

Telling Sissy to come get her picture taken

My sweet little Mace. She marched right into the classroom trying to figure out what to do first. I got a call, however, about halfway through the day that she cried on and off during the day. She fell asleep in Music class, and the teacher was just holding her a lot. Tori told Natalie she saw Madison & Macey in the hall and that Macey was crying for Mommy. I knew she would have a harder time (she is very clingy to me), but I know she'll get it soon--she loves Sunday school now and we had the same transition period. She had been telling me for weeks that she wasn't going to cry in school. As soon as they loaded her up and we drove off, she said "I cried." I told her it was o.k. and asked her why she cried and she said "Mommy Bye Bye." So, I'm trying to reassure her that Mommy will go bye bye for a little while so she can play, but Mommy will always come back to get her.
