We went to San Antonio last weekend for a little getaway for the four of us. We haven't ever been on a trip with just the four of us since we are always going places with our extended family. We had such a good time. The girls were great, and it was fun to explore a new city we had not been to.
The Alamo
About to get on the River Boat ride
There was a caterpillar crawling on Jeff's shirt once we boarded the boat, Madison played with it about half the boat ride.
These faces were on this building to keep the bad spirits away
Cooling off from shopping in Market Square with some snow cones
Dinner on the River Walk...the girls were very apprehensive with all the birds walking around us and under our table. Once you got up they finished off whatever was left of your dinner.
First attempt at visiting Sea World...rainy and about 58 degrees...about 200 people there total. We all got rainchecks since the shows were being canceled for lightning and thunder. Fun running back to the car in pouring rain. Needless to say we had to go back to the hotel, put dry clothes on and decided to tour the city that day too.
Waiting for the show that didn't ever start :(
So, we went to lunch at the Guenther House. It was an old flour mill, and delicious. Thanks for the suggestion, Mrs. Whitfield!!
The cinnamon roll from Guenther House that took Jeff three nights to eat
Warming up at lunch with some yummy pecan hot chocolate
After lunch, we toured the Witte Museum
Madison with "Pumba" from the Lion King :)
Go Bisons!!!!
Macey learning how people used to have to get water in the Wild West exhibit
About to ride the big "elegator" as Madison calls it. The Tower of the Americas that's in the background
We went outside on the observation deck at the top of the tower, and it was so windy when Jeff accidently let go of Macey's hand, it blew her down...it was hilarious
Hancock Park
Worn out from sightseeing...their nap at 6:00 pm on the way to dinner
Macey slept til the food came, and then asked how we had gotten there ;) Dinner was at Mi Tierra in Market Square...highly recommend it too.
The serenade Macey asked for, then wouldn't even look up when they came over to sing..it was so funny...she totally ignored them, and she was the one who wanted them to come to our table to sing.
Sea World...take 2...much prettier day the next day for Sea World. Unfortunately for us it was also City Employee day... a lot more than 200 people there. But it was fun and the shows were so good.
Feeding the ducks
It was still cool in the morning waiting for Shamu's show, so Madison wanted to warm up with some more hot chocolate....a girl after her Pops' own heart...that girls LOVES her some chocolate :)
Shamu
Abbey and The Count in the kid's area
The playground
Jeff and Macey on the Shamu rollercoaster
Cookie Monster
People feeding the dolphins
The last dinner at The Spaghetti Warehouse before heading home Sunday morning.
