Madison's Room

Over the holidays we tried the girls sleeping in separate rooms. No one was sleeping well, Macey was waking up in the middle of the night just about every night and it was starting to wake Madison up. They would cry every night for 15-20 minutes in bed before going to sleep. So we moved Madison across the hall. They slept much better separated. They didn't cry going to bed, Macey stopped waking up in the middle of the night and all four of us are getting a little bit better sleep...if only Macey wouldn't wake up at 5am for a drink. We have full beds in each room so they can sleep together if they want when they get a little older and can each have someone to sleep over. So, while Jeff was in Guatemala, we moved in with my parents and made Madison a big girl room. It's pretty much completed...just lack attaching bedskirt, getting a bedspread, and a few more little things.

We painted the walls creme, the ceiling blue, and Elizabeth's husband, Jim Byerly, painted the furniture blue. The furniture...a cedar chest, dresser with mirror, and full bed...was my grandparents (on my mom's side) when they got married.

I had bought the bunny finials years ago and we had curtain rod left over from her drapes to make a little shelf for her. These were my favorite bubbles they wore.

Keeping the bird-theme so their rooms coordinate...all the art in Madison's room is from one tube of wall decals from Pottery Barn Kids...my interior decorators (mom and sister) put them up

I could have done nothing and just bought the Princess sheets and she would have been happy

Curtains by my seamstress....my sister-in-law, Natalie

The girls are getting so fun to listen to...especially when it's to each other. I love listening to them sing by themselves...which they do almost non-stop...I just wish I knew the songs they were singing from school so I could figure out what they are saying. Here are some of my favorite Madison quotes right now.

"Um, I'ont know" (I don't know)

Anytime she refers to "This mornin, Yesteday, or 'omorrow"

"I have brown eyes like Mommy, and Sissy has blue eyes like Daddy!"

"I'm not pushing any bunts." (buttons)

"I wanna hold you, Mommy"

"I"ll be right back, okay."
"I'll see you when I wake up!"
"Hi, Mommy, how are you today?"
"Hey, what are you guys doing?"
"I love Daddy, and I love Mommy, and I love Sissy, too!"

Their favorite songs right now:

Jesus Loves Me

Jesus Loves the Little Children

If You're Happy and You Know It

Rise and Shine and Welcome to School Today ( a school song)

No More Monkeys Jumping on the Bed

This is the Cross Where Jesus Died

God Our Father prayer

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

Baa Baa Black Sheep

Any Mickey song
